Toe Nails of the Week: Kiss Nail Dress

I got these as a prize for winning the Broadway Nails badge on Influenster a few months back and honestly, they had just been sitting in my stash because I wasn’t sure what to do with them. The design, which is in Camisole, wasn’t something I’d pick out myself because I prefer simple and classic over…bedazzled zebra print. I finally decided to apply these on my toes so they would a) last longer and b) not be too visible if I totally butchered the application of them.

I was pleasantly surprised by these. Not only do they look cool on my toes but they were SO easy to apply. All you do is find the appropiate size for your nail, apply the sticker, and then file the excess product off with the included emery board. I had never tried nail stickers before this (I’m not including the imPRESS fake nails because they’re not an actual sticker like these) and it took me about 5 minutes to do both of my feet. The one thing I didn’t like is that even the largest sized sticker didn’t fit my big toe nail so I had to use a second sticker on both to fully cover the nail, but you really can’t even tell so it’s not that big of a deal.

I can’t speak for how long these last because I’ve only had them on for around 24 hours (the box claims that they can last “up to 10 days”), nor can I speak about how easy/hard they are to remove. The back of the box says that you can remove them by peeling them off slowly, so we’ll see how that goes. I definitley recommend these if you’re looking for a product to add a little edge to your nails. They’re just so simple to apply and I love products like these because there’s no drying time either. I can apply them and then go out and not have to worry about my nails smudging or dinging them on something.

Sample Round-Up #1: Garnier BB Cream & L’Oreal Magic Lumi Face Primer

I have a crap load of samples that I’ve accumulated over the last few months so I wanted to start a little blog series where I test them out and give my first impression of each product. For this post, I tried out the L’Oreal Magic Lumi Face Primer with the Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream over it.

Project 10 Pan Update!

I started my own project 10 pan 3 months ago and thus far, I’ve completely finished up 4 products! I’ve been working my way through my MAC tinted lip conditioner in Petting Pink like crazy, it’s been perfect because my lips have been so dry lately. The Burt’s Bees body butter has also been a current staple; I use it right after I get out of the shower. For the spring and summer, I’ve retired the Nivea balm, Benetint, and the Thrrob blush, but they’ll be reappearing next fall. As for my previously adored Revlon Age Defying concealer, I’m not sure what to do with it. It’s been so cakey every time I’ve attempted to use it so I’m not sure what’s up with it. I might end up chucking it because I love my Milani highlighting concealer so much more.

Prom Look #2: Dark Green Smoky Eye

I used the Coastal Scents Warm Palette & the Kat Von D Ludwig Palette for this look. On a side note- I do NOT recommend the CSWP; I received it as a birthday present when I first got into makeup and thought the shadows were pretty good, but now that I’ve used better quality ones, these pale in comparision to the likes of Urban Decay and Kat Von D. It was so challenging to get any sort of color pay off from the CS shadows, I had to pack on the silver shade like crazy. Anywhoooo…

From the CS palette, I used a light silver shade on the inner half and a darker one of the outer half. After getting very little color pay off, I decided to use Orbi from the KVD palette on the outer half as well. From there, I pronounced the crease with Lucifer (also from the KVD palette) and flared it out to give the look a little bit more edge. Lucifer was also used on the bottom lashline. As a final touch, I used the shade Tequila as my browbone and inner corner highlight.

Other products used:

  • L’oreal Voluminous Million Lashes
  • Ulta eyeliner in Chocolate

Prom Look #1: A Pop of Color

I used the Urban Decay Book of Shadows IV for this look.

  • Baked is on the inner half
  • Lost is on the outer half and blended into the crease
  • Hijack was flared out and also blended into the crease as well as on the lower lash line
  • Missionary is my browbone highlight

Other:

  • L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes is on my lashes, but I don’t recommend it for people with thin and sparse ones. It gets clumpy very easily and doesn’t do much for my eyelashes.
  • Ulta’s brown eyeliner in Chocolate is also on my lower lashline. I love brown liner because I feel it flatters my complexion and eye color the most. Black always looks so harsh on my eyes.
  • I chose to pair this eye look with MAC’s Viva Glam Cyndi lipstick. This is my favorite lipstick in the entire world (then again, I only own two, so…) and it keeps the look bold without making it over the top. You can build this up to full opacity or just keep it sheer and make it look like a tinted balm.

omg i have been awful at updating this. i moved home from college today so expect some prom looks, reviews, maybe some outfit of the days (if i can get my sister to be my camera girl), and a bunch of other stuff i have in mind. hopefully i can unpack the remainder of my stuff (my makeup stash is literally all over the place right now) tomorrow and start posting then.

Anonymous asked: you should do some hair and make up tutorials for prom

i’m such a flake for not even thinking about doing those! that’s such a good idea, i’ll try to get some up when i get back to my dorm next week.

johnkittycatams asked: oh c8 i meant to tell you okay i did the nails marina had in the primadonna video for prom and when i googled it the picture of your sister came up omg
