August Favorites!
It’s only the first week of September, so it’s not too late to post my August favorites, right? I hope not. If it is, we’re doing it anyway. Caitlin’s gonna give up her favorites first and you can see Katherine’s if you click through!
HEY. So as you guys know, I’ve simplified my makeup routine for the summer months. It’s way too hot to do anything else! I’ve been loving my NYX Provacateur* mascara and I’ve only been using the wand with less product on it to create long, natural looking lashes. I also use it on my bottom ones just to make them darker since they’re completely blonde and look non-existent.
The NARS Orgasm Illuminator has been a savior lately. It’s just SO EASY to apply yet it looks like you spent 15 minutes perfecting your highlighter. It’s easily the most beautiful product I own and if you want to see swatches of it, click the link at the beginning of this post.
You are soooooo0000ooo beaautttiiifuuuul tooo meeee, can’t you seeee???
Speaking of highlighters, Urban Decay’s Virgin looks so beautiful in the inner corner (water is wet, the sky is blue, etc.) It just gives my makeup look that final touch and is especially useful when I’m looking tired because it instantly brightens my eyes.
Wow my pictures are looking more horrible than usual, I wonder what’s up with my camera.
Finally, a hair care product. I got my hair cut recently and the Fekkai Glossing Creme has been the perfect product for my long layers. It’s (obviously) a creamy consistency but it doesn’t weigh down my thin hair, it just makes it soft and reduces the pesky baby hairs along the crown of my head. I use this after I’ve let my hair dry slightly from the shower. I’m just sad that it’s almost gone and I’ll have to fork over $9 to buy another mini bottle. SAD.

TAKE IT AWAY, KATHERINE.
I’ve decided that I have all the beauty stuff I need so I’m trying really hard not to buy more. But I can try as hard as I want and we all know that won’t work.
The first thing that I’m absolutely in love with now is the Maybelline Dream Fresh B.B. Cream. I use the color Light, in case you were wondering (but you shouldn’t really be surprised.) It’s the perfect amount of coverage for my skin. It doesn’t matte me out or make me look oily and most importantly: it doesn’t break me out. It’s also super inexpensive which is great.
There was a huge sale on TRESemme products at the drug store so I decided to pick up the new Anti-Breakage shampoo and conditioner. It has gelatin and B vitamins. That mixed with my next favorite for the month have really gotten my hair feeling better than it has in a long time. Also I should mention that I had dyed my hair a reddish brown just before I started using this shampoo and it hasn’t faded more than I usually experience with other shampoos.
The Nexxus Pro Mend Split End Binding Smoothing Shine Serum is possibly the longest name ever for a product I’ve never used a Nexxus product before this because I wasnt sure if it was worth the extra money. When I was fortunate enough to get a full-sized sample from work, I scooped it up to put it to the test. After using the TRESemme Anti-Breakage system, I put like half a pump of this stuff through my hair from mid-shaft to ends. My hair is so much smoother and less frizzy than it’s ever been before. Obviously I still have split ends but I love the way my hair feels now. I’ll definitely be purchasing this for myself when I finish this one off.
Some of my other favorites for this month were green apple ChapStick, apple and cranberry oatmeal, hot pink pedicures, Azealia Banks and Pretty Little Liars.
*I received this product for free by attending the Lulu’s Style Studio. I am not being paid/compensated to review it on my blog.
